So last week we purchased two big items from an online auction – a lathe and a radial arm saw. Both very valuable tools for working with wood at a really good price.
The lathe is a big old heavy metal one that weighs in the hundreds of pounds. We had to take it apart to move it. My youngest daughter “Muscles” helped me with heavy lifting which was great, as I could not have moved it all by myself.
This week, we spent building a little shed for it. The lathe will be placed on its original saw horses on a cement pad with a shed covering it. Then we lift the shed off the lathe to use it when we want to do some wood turning.
I have been told that owning a lathe will change your life. We shall see.
