I discovered another piece of local history when I found this Montague Township dog tag near the corner of my house a couple of days ago. It is dated 1938 and made of metal – possibly brass. A former resident thinks it may have belonged to one of the coon-dogs that the farmers used for hunting.
I wondered if we could find the old registration records from the township. I discovered that the township records were sent to the Ontario archives in 1971 and are not currently available online.
